GEO & AI visibility

GEO that gets you cited. Not just ranked.

ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews now answer the question directly, before anyone reaches a website. Generative engine optimisation (GEO) is how we make sure your business is the one they name.

Why GEO matters now

Search is moving into AI answers.

Buyers are asking AI first, and the traffic AI sends to websites is growing fast. If you're not in the answer, you're not in the running.

68%

of Google searches end without a click through to any website

+101%

growth in referral traffic from ChatGPT to websites, January to August 2026

70%

of consumers say their use of AI for search has increased over the past year

What we do

Our GEO services

Start with the audit

Our free AI Visibility Audit is the starting point for almost every GEO engagement: a scored, evidence-led report covering crawler access, indexation, content, entity signals and off-site presence, built from a real crawl of your site, server logs and real prompts run across AI platforms.

Structure the facts

Schema markup and consistent business details across your site, Google Business Profile and LinkedIn, so AI systems can confirm who you are with confidence, not guesswork.

Write to be quoted

Pages restructured so an AI system can lift a clean, accurate answer straight out of them, rather than skipping past you for a competitor with a clearer paragraph.

Track the citations

Ongoing monitoring of where you're mentioned (and where you're not) across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews, and who's getting named instead.

What we check

69 checks across the 8 things AI looks for.

Every GEO engagement starts with our AI Visibility Audit. It scores your site against 69 checks in 8 weighted pillars that follow how AI engines find and cite sources, from whether they can reach your site to whether you are mentioned where they look. The weakest checks become the work we do for you. Pick an area to see exactly what we look at.

01 / 089 checks

Crawler and agent access

Whether AI engines can actually reach your site. Nothing else matters if they can't, and most audits only check it on paper.

  • AI search crawlers allowed (OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot, Bingbot)
  • Real-time AI agents allowed (ChatGPT-User, Perplexity-User)
  • A deliberate policy for AI training crawlers, kept separate from search
  • Firewall and CDN rules not blocking AI search or agent crawlers
  • Server logs confirm AI crawlers are actually fetching your pages
  • Main content in the raw HTML, readable without JavaScript
  • No cookie wall or pop-up blocking the main content
  • Clean responses to verified crawlers, with no 403, 429 or 5xx errors
  • llms.txt published
What we fix

Robots.txt, firewall and CDN rules, rendering and anything else stopping AI crawlers reaching your pages, confirmed in your server logs.

02 / 0810 checks

Indexation and retrievability

Whether your site sits in the indexes AI engines draw from, including Bing, which powers Copilot.

  • Fully indexable in Google, with no accidental noindex, snippet limits or canonical conflicts
  • Indexed in Bing, with Bing Webmaster Tools verified
  • Sitemap valid and submitted to Google and Bing, with IndexNow where supported
  • Top 10 rankings for your core commercial terms
  • Core Web Vitals and server response times healthy on key pages
  • Mobile pages carry the same content as desktop
  • Clean, stable URL structure
  • Minimal 4xx and 5xx errors, and no redirect chains
  • Internal links give every key page a short, crawlable path
  • Products and offers available as machine-readable data, not just page copy
What we fix

Indexing problems in Google and Bing, sitemaps, site speed, internal linking and product data.

03 / 088 checks

Relevance and sub-query coverage

The most consistent factor in the research. AI engines split one prompt into many smaller questions and build the answer from the pages that cover them best.

  • Pages answer the question being asked, in the buyer's own words
  • A map of the sub-questions behind each key topic, with every one answered
  • Cost, timeframes, alternatives, risks and eligibility covered on the page
  • Comparison and alternatives content for major commercial terms
  • Long-tail, conversational questions covered, not just head terms
  • Topic clusters with hub and spoke pages linked both ways
  • Page depth matches what the question needs, with no thin teaser pages
  • Related topics and entities covered
What we fix

A map of the questions behind each key topic, then content that answers every one of them directly.

04 / 089 checks

Content quality and evidence

Verifiable evidence gives AI engines something they can quote and attribute, as long as it is true.

  • Real statistics, each with a named source and a date
  • Explicit prices, dates and specifications where relevant
  • Clear, self-contained definitions of key terms
  • Visible first-hand experience
  • Original research or data others could cite
  • Genuine updates, visible on the page and in schema
  • Written for people, with no keyword stuffing
  • A point of view the competing pages don't have
  • Claims linked to primary sources
What we fix

Sourced statistics, real prices and specifics, first-hand detail and a clear point of view on your key pages.

05 / 088 checks

Answer extractability

AI engines quote passages, not whole pages, so each section needs to answer its question cleanly.

  • A self-contained answer in the first 40 to 60 words under each heading
  • Question-led headings that match real searches
  • Passages that make sense on their own
  • Tables and lists for specs, comparisons and steps
  • Headings that read as a clear outline on their own
  • No answers buried under long introductions
  • Rewrites tested for their effect on retrieval, not just citation
  • Video transcripts on the page and properly described images
What we fix

Pages restructured so each section leads with a clear answer, without harming how they are retrieved.

06 / 089 checks

Entity and brand identity

Whether AI engines know who you are as a distinct brand, and describe you correctly.

  • Your brand described consistently across your site, schema and profiles
  • Organisation or LocalBusiness schema linked to your official profiles
  • An accurate Wikidata entry
  • A correct Google knowledge panel
  • Your brand not confused with similarly named companies
  • Key people, products and locations with their own pages
  • Consistent name, address and phone number across the web
  • A Wikipedia article, only where your notability genuinely supports one
  • A verified, complete and actively managed Google Business Profile
What we fix

Consistent brand details, schema, Wikidata and your Google Business Profile, so AI tools can confirm exactly who you are.

07 / 088 checks

Trust, provenance and integrity

Signals that show who produced your content and whether it can be trusted, plus a check that nothing tries to game AI models.

  • No hidden text or instructions aimed at AI models anywhere on the site
  • Named author bylines on editorial content
  • Author bios with verifiable credentials
  • A detailed, specific About page
  • Contact details visible across the site
  • Visible last-updated dates that match your schema
  • A published editorial or review policy
  • Structured data that validates with no errors
What we fix

Author details, dates, contact information and clean structured data, and removal of anything that tries to manipulate AI tools.

08 / 088 checks

Off-site presence and earned media

Where AI engines decide who to recommend. Most brands are recognised when named but rarely suggested unprompted, and that gap closes off your site.

  • Included in the third-party roundups and best-of lists for your category
  • Genuine mentions on Reddit, forums and community threads
  • Editorial coverage in respected publications for your category
  • Reviews on Google, Trustpilot and the platforms your industry uses
  • Authoritative backlinks from relevant sites
  • Brand mentions across your industry, even without links
  • YouTube videos with transcripts, where video matters in your category
  • Social profiles claimed, consistently named and active
What we fix

Earned coverage, reviews, community presence and mentions in the sources AI engines use for category answers.

How we score it

Evidence, not guesswork.

Every check is scored only from evidence. Some are a simple pass or fail, the rest are graded from 1 to 5, and anything that doesn't apply to your business is marked N/A so it never counts against you. We don't assume a site has something because of the platform it's built on. If we can't prove it, we ask you rather than guess, so every score in your report can be defended.

Talk to us
  • SEO foundations, AI future

Traditional SEO and GEO aren't separate jobs. We do both together, so you're covered wherever search goes next.

  • 16+ years combined experience

We've built and tested AI visibility strategies across agency and enterprise settings, not learned it from a course last month.

  • Early-mover advantage

Most competitors in most industries aren't optimising for AI citation yet. That gap closes fast once they catch on.

  • AI adoption & knowledge

We don't just get you appearing in AI results: we help you understand the tools well enough to use them properly across the business.

  • Agency and enterprise, combined

The delivery speed of an agency with the technical rigour of in-house enterprise SEO. Most providers only bring one of the two.

It matters where you're visible

We track and optimise your presence across the AI platforms your customers are already using.

ChatGPT

The world's most used AI assistant, and by far the biggest source of AI referral traffic to websites.

Google AI Overviews

Sits above the organic results on Google itself, so getting cited here affects visibility even for searches you already rank for.

Gemini

Google's own model, increasingly built into Search, Workspace and Android.

Perplexity

An answer engine that cites its sources inline, so being one of those sources sends real, high-intent visits.

Claude

Focused on reasoning and longer, more structured answers, used heavily for research and comparison questions.

Microsoft Copilot

Built into Windows and Edge, putting it in front of a large everyday business audience.

Our GEO process

How a GEO engagement unfolds.

Baseline and competitor mapping

Before we change anything, we find out exactly where you stand and why.

AI Visibility Audit

69 checks across 8 weighted pillars, plus real prompts run repeatedly across the AI platforms your customers use, so we know precisely what's holding you back.

Citation gap mapping

We identify who's being cited instead of you, and what they're doing differently.

Technical and content fixes

Then we fix what the audit found, starting with the changes that move the needle fastest.

Structured data & entity signals

Schema markup and consistent facts across your site, Google Business Profile and LinkedIn.

Content rebuilt to be quoted

Pages restructured so AI systems can lift a clean, accurate answer straight from them.

Ongoing monitoring and reporting

GEO isn't a one-off project. We keep watching and adjusting as the platforms change.

Citation monitoring

Ongoing tracking of where you're mentioned, and where you're not, across every platform that matters.

Reporting tied to revenue

Regular updates on what visibility is actually doing for enquiries, not just where you rank.

Data-led reporting

See what visibility is actually worth.

Every recommendation comes from evidence: a full site crawl, server logs, Google and Bing index data and real prompts tested across multiple AI platforms. Then we report on the full picture, from citations and rankings through to the enquiries and revenue they produce. If a metric doesn't affect the business, it doesn't make the report.

  • AI citations and share of voice by platform
  • Organic and AI referral traffic
  • Enquiries and revenue attributed

Example monthly report

Common questions

GEO and AI visibility, explained plainly.

What is GEO (generative engine optimisation)?

GEO is the practice of making your business easy for AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews to find, understand and cite. Where SEO earns you a place in the list of results, GEO earns you a mention inside the answer itself.

What's the difference between SEO and GEO?

SEO gets you found on Google's results page. GEO gets you named inside AI-generated answers. The two share a foundation (a fast, well-structured, genuinely useful site) but they aren't the same thing, and a site optimised only for one often underperforms on the other.

Do I need both?

Most businesses do, since buyers now move between traditional search and AI tools depending on the question. We usually recommend starting with the audit so you can see exactly where the gaps are before deciding where to spend first.

How is AI visibility actually measured?

By running real, unbranded prompts several times each across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, then recording how often your business is named and whether it is described accurately. We report that separately from the readiness score, which covers the technical, content and off-site signals that decide whether AI tools can find and trust you.

How long before GEO shows results?

It varies by industry and by how much needs fixing. Some technical and structured data changes affect visibility within weeks; building the authority and content depth AI systems rely on takes longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline once we've seen the audit.
